Letní Den 530kč [R440]
How lucky are we? Our neighbours at the Letní Den campsite not only popped over with two chairs on loan, but shared their delicious leftover pasta dinner with us.
The campsite bills itself as a "Family Camp in Czech Canada". Most of their many guests are from Holland. There were only two spots open for "people off the street" when we arrived. We were allocated site 21 next to the pool.

Only 30km done again today. Our distances (and route) are being dictated by terrain and by campsite options, the only accommodation we can afford.
The weather was just shy of "too hot"; the terrain just short of "too hilly".
Villages here sometimes lie just two or three km apart. And around almost every other bend is a body of water: a small pond or dam or lake. With or without water lillies, usually with water fowl. Even country roads are usually in excellent condition. Where not, they are patched not potholed.

Travelling usually in developing countries means we have grown accustomed to resolving problems with bikes or equipment or clothing quickly and cheaply, even if via a gerrymandered "solution". Remember in Africa we came to embrace the saying "Nothing works in Africa, but everything works out".
Europe falls short of Africa and Asia in this regard. On three occasions since entering Europe, we have had to hand our bikes in for repairs. In each case these took more than a day and cost more than a day's budget.
Our flask holders, which carry our water flasks on our front forks where they are easily accessible, have broken. This means we are having to strap the flasks to the tops of our panniers, increasing the weight carried on the back tyres. In Africa we would have been able to effect the small repairs at any one of a dozen metalwork shops in any mid-sized town. Recently Charl tracked down a metalworker who rejected the job as being too small.
