Boer maak 'n plan. Very loosely translated: farmer makes a plan, though a true boer is an Afrikaner who migrated north away from the British Cape Colony around 1835. Anyway, in the context of this WhatsApp, Charl makes a plan, in fact two.
1. We are camping for the fourth night in a row. Camping Los Jarales is not only our cheapest accommodation to date, but if asked gives pensioners a 20% discount. They do not provide tent dwellers with a table and chairs, but our chosen site sports a low wall. Charl discovered that popping our blow up pillows behind these makes for decent seating! I will also be able to cook standing up - pasta with a sauce of pesto, bacon and fresh tomatoes.
2. I have been plagued by oil from the bike which greases my right inner calf and is hard to remove both from my skin and my cycle pants and pollutes anything I touch including after-cycle clothes and sheets. Charl recently remembered something from his childhood which seems to have solved the problem. In 1956, a man called Goodboy did bicycle deliveries for Huggetts Pharmacy on Beach Road in Nahoon, East London.
He resolved the oil issue by attaching a circle of cardboard to his pedal, protecting his trousers from the cog and chain. So simple...

We did not make much progress today, travelling around 12km only, partially on the narrow cement strip on the outide of the autovia crash barrier, partially through the higgledy streets between the motorway and the beach, partially on the boardwalk.
Tomorrow, Torremolinos just south of Malaga, at which point we need to make a decision about what next...

My new favourite Spanish word is chiringuito which means beach bar. There are an abundance of beach bars / restaurants along this stretch of coast.
