The Bulgarians say we must change the dates on our pre-booked accommodation and then *collect our visas*!!!
So, tomorrow we visit Prizren, Thursday we collect our visas, Friday we head for the North Macedonian border and points beyond.
How fab!

Yesterday we bussed to Prizren and back. Prizren is the second biggest city in Kosovo (population 195,000) and billed as the prettiest. It is located in the foothills of the Šar Mountains and sections of the old (Ottoman) city along the Prizren River are indeed pretty, but do not offer quite the same aesthetic pleasures as most European cities.
There is an enormous amount of building going on in Kosovo with many new buildings being both modern and attractive. But many buildings are unfinished, an eyesore on most streets.
Prizren has been occupied by Romans, Serbians, Albanians, Ottomans... A long and complex history.
We planned to visit one of the four Unesco churches, but found it was closed for renovations so admired it from outside only. We popped into the archeological museum, located in an hamam (Turkish bath) built in 1480. Oddly, a clock tower was later added to the building so we were able to climb this for good views over the city. And finally we crossed the reconstructed Ottoman-era stone bridge. A pleasant day out.
