The floor in our hotel room slopes toward the door. And a quarter-circle has had to be cut into the passage floor to allow the outer door to open inwards. Pretty bad planning, but gave me a good giggle.

I have not mentioned before the kissing sound that is used to attract attention. It is unexpectedly hearable, even from a distance. Sometimes it is used to attract my attention. At first I thought it was rude, but have come to understand it is merely a useful sound, clearly distinguishable from any other.
