Charl, who as a boy read the Afrikaans children’s encyclopedia from cover to cover, developed then an interest in Lambaréné and Albert Schweitzer, pastor, doctor, philosopher, musician, Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Today he visited the hospital founded here by Schweitzer in the early 1900s, and his home where he sat at his piano and was photographed by the museum ticket seller.
