WhatsApp: Tomorrow we cross into Senegal so today was our last full day in Guinea-Bissau during which we cycled 45km from Ingore to Sao Domingos. The woman in green, from a small roadside table, can fill a fresh baguette with egg or fish or beans or chickpeas or a combo with or without mayo. We stopped to photograph the two bikes laden with charcoal. The two young transporters caught up with us shortly thereafter and I managed to capture one trying to overtake Charl. A good day through a strange wetland, currently burned dry and salty where filled with shallow water in the wet season.
These young guys are strong and exhaust themselves pushing past us on their old bikes. We often catch up to them again later at a saner sustainable pace. Then we have to decide whether to hang back or overtake, which is inevitably seen as a challenge.
