23-28 December 2023, Dullstroom, 34.69km
Muddlers Minnow R890.00 / Artist’s Cottage R800

At 2100 metres above sea level, Dullstroom is either the highest town in South Africa, or "one of the highest towns" in South Africa - it's hard to get a clear answer from Google!
Either way, we did a fair amount of climbing to reach here from Belfast, 36km away. We climbed along the R540 which forms part of the Highlands Meander and which sports a narrow safety strip to the left of the yellow line.
The scene through which we passed was very pretty, all rolling hills and myriad grasses in greens and mustards and aubergine.
We are settled into a garden cottage for five nights, planning to do very little, so we will not be chatting daily!

There was a British-run concentration camp in Belfast. Before leaving town, we visited the Belfast Military Cemetery.
